“You can have anything you want in life if
you dress for it.”-Edith Head
The most extravagant and gala event of Pyrokinesis,
Mars and Venus happens with the participation of some of the most beautiful
gorgeous and stand-alone participants and an enthusiastic group of organisers
with some of the most renowned judges of the region and beyond it. This time
too, the fashion world fascinated us with its stupendous outfits and fashion
walks. And why not? For it was being dressed by the most famous fashion
designers Mr. Bhaskar Saikia and Cham Thai. And most importantly the
participants paid tribute to the martyred soldiers who were encountered in the
most recent Pulwama terror attack.
An altogether of 42 participants were
selected and from them just 20 of them got selected into the grand finale of
Mr. Mars and Miss Venus. We the audience got the taste of a plethora of
traditions and dresses drenched in a rainbow of colours and emotions. The
pre-selection stage happened in the Auditorium of Assam Engineering College and
surely each and every one of them had qualities which made them at par with one
another. The energy and effort put into it was surely a sight to see. And not
to forget the organising committee who worked tediously to make this event a
success.
Finally on the 20th of February
on the grand stage set up for the pyrokinesis happened the event. It started
off with the felicitation of the judges and the guests along with a great
enthusiastic crowd; for which we were so grateful to have them here. Our
special guest was our very own Miss Yankee Parashar along with Madhuri Barman,
Paya Oshan Goswami, Amrita Dutta, Mitali Borbora, Moushumi Borah. The Guest of
Honour was Mr. Rajvee Hussain who enlightened us with his knowledge about
fashion not just being a profession but our day-to-day need. We all loved the
dresses put forward by the renowned Bhaskar Saikia and Cham Thai which made
this event a spark turned into a beautiful flame with every participant giving
their best to raise a step higher.
And finally after a lot of twists and turns
a finale of 6 got selected, an inch closer to the title. This happened to be
the judges round comprising of their introduction, walk, their talent and
obviously Q&A. *tension and pressure rising* *crowds excited* *all
cheering* *time for the final results*. So, as everyone was congratulated it
was surely a tough decision for the judges to declare the results as every
participant was a cut above the other. But decisions had to be made and so
shall the ice must break. As the results were as follows:
Girl’s-
Miss Venus – Ananya Kataki
Miss Talented – NamameeGautam
Miss Congeniality – Abhiruchi Bora
Boys-
Mr. Mars – Anubhav Goswami
Mr. Talented – Sanjay Pator
Mr. Congeniality –Anubhav Goswami
Boys-

As the event concluded on a high we hope
that our spirit raises for the coming challenges and prepare ourselves for the
coming years of Mars and Venus and set the stage for the thrill of Pyrokinesis
’19 here at our very own Assam Engineering college.
